Generic Enterprises are those with an annual turnover in excess of R50 million. Their scorecard differs significantly from the QSE scorecard as they have to report on all five codes in order to ssess their BEE status, and codes are weighted differently according to their perceived importance in furthering broad-based black economic empowerment in the country. Generic Entities must qualify as an Empowering Suppliers in order to secure a BEE Certificate.

Generic Enterprises will need to be measured against all five elements

1. Ownership
2. Management Control
3. Skills Development
4. Enterprise and Supplier Development
5. Socio Economic Development

The Verification Process comprises of six steps:

  1. Verification Application, Contract and Payment recieved
  2. Allocate Verification Analysis(t)
  3. Plan on-site Verification
  4. Conduct on-site Verification
  5. Finalize Verification Status
  6. Issue Certificate and Report
